Andreas Larrson, best sommelier of the world 2007, presents the 2006 vintage of Vosne Romanée Premier Cru « Les Malconsorts », from Domaine du Clos Frantin (Part 3) | 28-05-2010
We have just received the tasting notes from Andreas Larrson, Best Sommelier of the World 2007 who has conducted for our three most prestigious wines what he calls “evolutive tasting”. His idea is to taste the same wine at four different moments to see how it changes with time. We sent him our 3 most prestigious Burgundy wines, namely :
VOSNE ROMANEE PREMIER CRU « LES MALCONSORTS » 2006, Domaine du Clos Frantin

First tasting: 13/08/2008
Nice fruit and minerality on the nose, slightly more oak evident this time, the palate appears more closed this time, I would still suggest to keep this for a little longer.
Second tasting: 20/02/2009
Much more complexity this time, wild berries minerals, the fruit is on the darker side, a hint of oak in the background, really structured with a long finish, drinks rather well but it has a big potential for the future, I look forward to the next tasting.
Third tasting: 28/08/2009
Elegant nose that displays wild fruit, raspberry and mineral notes, a touch of oak in the background, the palate is still young and austere, a slight hint of oak and vanilla, good length and potential, should need some time, especially for the palate to smoothen.
Fourth tasting: 08/02/2010
Nice nose with an approaching complexity, spicy and red fruity palate, the palate is round, complex and expressive and leaves nothing to desire, well balanced with a good freshness and length, very drinkable now but some more time would add more complexity.

His idea is to taste the same wine at four different moments to see how it changes with time. We sent him our 3 most prestigious Burgundy wines, namely :
CORTON GRAND CRU
MAISON ALBERT BICHOT ‐ CLOS DES MARECHAUDES 2006

The nose is young and intense showing dark berries, minerals and a fine spiciness, very structured with fine tannins and a long aftertaste, still a little closed, it should get some time for the fruit to develop.
First tasting: 26/08/2008
Slightly more closed on the nose this time, the wine shows more oak and less fruit, also the palate is in a backward phase, i would definitely wait some more time.
Second tasting: 19/02/2009
Very generous, it seems to be back in form, nice balance, round and supple fruit, a bit of oak in the background, good length and a spicy finish, really nice.
Third tasting: 20/08/2009
Very expressive, lovely purity, stones, oak and dark berries, the palate is rich and dense, very assertive with a long finish, excellent, can easily be enjoyed or kept for many years.
Fourth tasting: 08/02/2010

His idea is to taste the same wine at four different moments to see how it changes with time. We sent him our 3 most prestigious Burgundy wines, namely :
CHABLIS GRAND CRU
MAISON ALBERT BICHOT ‐ MOUTONNE 2006

Minerals and ripe fruit on the nose, quite expressive, the palate has a good structure, balanced acidity, not too high, rather ripe with a good length.
First tasting: 29/08/2008
Fine purity and mineral character on the nose, more floral this time, the palate has a fine balance, the slight bitter/tannic notes are gone, fresh, zesty and long aftertaste.
Second tasting: 16/02/2009
Much more development on the nose, mineral and firm, the palate is still on the rich/ripe side, well balanced with a long mineral finish, nicely drinkable, a good example in a rather warm style.
Third tasting: 20/08/2009
Still nice purity and a classic mineral note, however the fruit is a bit more opulent towards the tropical, nicely balanced and very long with a fine dose of complexity, excellent drinkability, yet with potential for 10 years.
Fourth tasting: 08/02/2010
